Congratulations to our NADC PhotoImaging Alumni and NADC colleague's successes at the 2016 APPAs.

There were many strong entries from the Australian Photography industry received at the recent APPAs (Australian Professional photography Awards) held in Melbourne, in late August.

Follow the link here for all winners in the various categories…
Several of our past students made the trip down to get feedback on their entries first hand, to assist in the judging of prints, and to soak up the atmosphere of camaraderie.

Local photographer and NADC PhotoImaging alumni Natalie Howe (graduated in 2010), was named the A.I.P.P. Newborn Photographer of 2016.

Helen Trenerry (graduated in 2015) got very positive critical responses and gained awards for her entries shown below.

Diploma in PhotoImaging Alumni student success continues

Ona Janzen, who graduated in the Diploma in PhotoImaging in 2012 has won several awards since graduating with us. She was a finalist in the HeadOn Portrait prize (2014), and was the A.I.P.P Student Photographer of the Year (2012).

"My aim is to create beautiful, poignant images. I am influenced by a desire to pause and still my subjects, to capture fleeting moments, seemingly between states. When one is most present, most conscious...and hold this space."

She consistently achieves high scores at the A.I.P.P State + Federal awards, and her business in the Blue Mountains continues to get great reviews.

Have a look at this short film clip  made by friends to showcase her work practice, philosophy and her work.

Skill Set Review

I came to this course only expecting some camera skills and was quickly introduced to a whole new world of Photo Imaging.
From Capture, Industry to Post Production I found even the most daunting of subjects were broken down and fears taken away and I was able to achieve a sense of accomplishment. I loved the passion and excitement that was brought into each class and has rubbed off.

The Teachers at NADC are Photographer/ Educators. I am still in awe of the working knowledge the teachers bring to the class from a professional working background in photography and are happy to share.

I am now looking forward to the Diploma of Photo Imaging, something I would have not dreamed of a few months ago!

Thank You Sally Colechin, Adam Knott, Jo Newton, Nicola Read and Cath Barcan!

Regards
Anna Glen
